Sometimes we have to get a little techhy for our #crafterminds chats. Today we talked about which blog plugins and gadgets are worth using. What are plugins? They’re small programs or code add-ons that you can use with your blog to customize them. Oh, and just to clarify the terminology: in WordPress, they’re called plugins, and on Blogger, they’re called gadgets.
A few plugins I would like to recommend for WordPress:
- nrelate, a related posts plugin. I recommend this plugin because its related posts results are very good, you can customize the thumbnails to the perfect size and style for your blog, and you can monetize by allowing a sponsored thumbnail, which has been a very successful way we have brought in an income with our blogs.
- Jetpack, a multifaceted plugin that I like chiefly for it’s robust on-dashboard statistics. I use this to monitor my sites’ daily stats, from pageviews, to incoming links, to comparing performance from day to day.
- And the Winner Is… for holding fuss-free giveaways.
